Team ATLRoof.com Training Camp From Team ATLRoof.org With
tremendous enthusiasm for the 2010 campaign, the NGCA-ATLroof.com
raceteam (formerly Team Cycleworks p/b HDR) gathered on the plains
just outside LaGrange, GA last weekend for a late winter training
camp. With 7 State titles and 1 National title in the last two
years, NGCA-ATLroof.com will again be fielding competitive squads in
Men's Cat 4, Cat 3 and Master's divisions as well as Women's 1,2,3.
The off-season has been a busy one. With the loss of previous title
sponsor, HDR, the organization inked a multi-year deal with one of
Atlanta's highest rated commercial and residential roofing
companies- ATLroof.com. And, after a merger with Roswell Velo, there
was a move to Roswell Bicycles as the shop sponsor. In addition to
the upcoming racing season, the club is looking forward to making
its' annual contribution to the Georgia racing calendar by hosting
the Historic Roswell Criterium on Sunday 04/25 and the Cherokee
County Road Race on Saturday 06/05.

GA Rides to the Capitol Registration for the
Georgia Rides To The Capitol 2010 (GRTTC10) event is open! The site
is as up-to-date as I can get it for now too. Please pass the word
as far as you can to all your lists and contacts - we need as big a
turn out as we can get. Donations too. Thank you Rebecca for listing
the event on the GBAN site.
Aileen Harris with the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) will be
sending out invitations to all metro mayors and council members in
the next few days. If you personally invite a local elected official
to the event (great idea), please let her (or me) know so she can
track them and get them the blue MAMA/GRTTC windbreaker that GMA has
provided for past events. I have copied her on this email. Also, we
can provide a limited number of bikes for their use on the Decatur
route or the ceremonial ride from Hurt Park. Best if you have your
elected official contact me about the bike. Please pass the word! We
need a big turnout to support our legislative efforts.

Nobody Rides Bikes in Sandy Springs This comes from several
Joe Seconder: “Nobody in Sandy Springs Rides Bikes”
Background: The City of Roswell has received a $3 Million Federal
grant to build a Bike/Ped Multi-Use Bridge over the Chattahoochee
River at Roswell Road. The Multi-Use Bridge would standalone,
running along the west side of the existing Roswell road bridge.
Connecting on the south side, the Multi-Use Bridge would loop
underneath the existing Roswell Road bridge and open out to Roberts
Drive on the east, avoiding the crossing of traffic Roswell Road. On
the north side, it would merge with the existing Roswell River
trail. This bridge is on the city limits between Roswell and Sandy
Springs and the grant requires a local match -- about $350k from
each city. Roswell is willing to come up with their portion of the
match, now we need to convince Sandy Springs at their city council
meeting on Tuesday, February 16th to do the same. Eva Galambos, the
Sandy Springs Mayor is on the fence with this one and has reportedly
stated, “Nobody in Sandy Springs rides bikes”. Why does she think
that? I don’t know. Maybe it’s because the organized rides start
early in the morning? Maybe it’s because there is no dedicated
advocacy group of Sandy Springs citizens that regularly meets with
the city and pushes for bicycle accommodations? Maybe it’s because
there’s a limited number of locally-owned bike shops in Sandy
Springs? Whatever the reason, could we all make the decision today
to step forward and offer a bit of support before Tuesday, February
16th?
I ask you to do one or both of the following:
· Please sign the on-line petition:
http://sandings.epetitions.net/
· Attend the Sandy Springs city council meeting on: Tuesday,
February 16th at 6 pm Sandy Springs City Hall 7840 Roswell Road,

2-15-2010 Sunny King Crit News The Sunny King Criterium,
usually the first weekend in May, has moved to April 17 this
year. It is again an NRC race. For those who have raced at Sunny
King, you are familiar with the full-course live race coverage
provided on the JumboTron located at the Start/Finish. This is
produced by a regional TV station with 5 live cameras stationed
around the crit course, providing slow motion replays of any crashes
on the .6 mile course and also of preme sprints and finish sprints.
What is new for 2010? All of the coverage on the JumboTron will be
streamed LIVE on the internet at the Sunny King Criterium web site
www.sunnykingcriterium.com. This includes all races early in the
day, as well as the pro women and pro men under the streetlights of
downtown Anniston. An excellent opportunity for friends, family, and
sponsors to watch your team race live. Also, a road race has
been added on Sunday, April 18. RR info will be up on the web site
soon.

to reduce trail erosion and increase ridability. Please head
warnings of this closure and give our trail system a chance to heal.
If there are any questions regarding the closure please contact Eric

WBL Book Calling all scribes:
The WBL, in a joint venture with WBL Archive Press, is pleased to
announce the forthcoming publication of 100 copies of a special
edition printing of The Other Stories from the Other Season. These
will be stories written by you, the Zealots, about your favorite
ride, your worst WBL experience (your love and adoration for Carney)
or any aspect of any ride whatsoever, real or not. The Lucky dozen
or selected will be published in conjunction with the WBL 2010
stories in a high quality bound book with a glossy cover. Stories
can be as long or as short as the writer wants. Stories will not be
edited in any form or fashion, whether there be misspelled words, a
run of run on sentences, or misplaced metaphors, so be on your best
behavior. Who Carney selects is entirely up to his particular
tastes. We have heard so many epic stories over the years, that we
thought now was the time to reduce them to words. So get crackin,
but do us proud, and remember, neither treacle nor drivel are
welcome round these parts. If this works, there could be a Volume 2.
In addition, to offset the costs of printing we are going to allow
sponsors to purchase 1-page ads to be placed in the book—ad design
entirely left up to sponsor. We will offer pages for 100 bucks each,
only up to the amount of the printing costs. We estimate offering 20
pages. Be part of history! email stories in word form as attachment

stages which include the summit finish at Ax 3 Domaines, climb of
Port de Bales, and Col d´Aubisque and the spectacular summit finish
on top of the Col du Tourmalet. After the spectacle of the Pyrenees
we’ll spend 2 nights in the wine capital of the world, Bordeaux and
see the stage to Bordeaux and the next day’s Bordeaux to Pauillac
Time Trial. On Sunday morning our tour company has reserved a
private TGV fast train from Bordeaux to Paris, so that we can see
the final stage on the cobblestones of the Champs Elysees. Yes,
there will be lots of riding opportunity on the actual tour route,
and daily mileage is a personal choice from each day’s options.
The tour cost includes all transportation, including airport pick up
and delivery, 9 nights in nice, air conditioned hotels, daily
breakfast, 6 dinners, and a complete itinerary of daily activities
for riders and non-riders alike. Our complete package minimizes the
need for extra spending, and the beauty of a large trip is that it
