April 2012

4-2-2012 Smyrna Bikes News Smyrna Bikes is the newest Litespeed dealer in Atlanta! Come in to see the new aero carbon C1 frame!

ATL Road Rides Over the next week, I'm going to work on cleaning up the Atlanta Road Rides page. If you want to list a ride, change a ride description, add your shop's ride, add a map or link to a GPS file, etc., this is a great time to send me an email or a message Facebook! It's something I've been meaning to do, but being sick has prevented me from doing a lot I'd planned the last 2 months......http://www.southeasterncycling.com/atlroadrides.html

ProGold Bike Wash Review Progold Manufacturing is an Atlanta, Georgia based bicycle products company. ProGold is best known for their Prolink bike lube. Riders love Prolink because it keeps chains clean and does not attract dirt like other lubes. The new Progold Bike Wash is safe for all types of bikes including carbon. ProGold says that you can also use it on washable fabrics and finishes. I didn't use it on fabrics, but be sure to test a small spot in an inconspicuous site to make sure it will not damage the specific fabric. The Bike wash is biodegradable and contains" no lye phosphates, bleach, dyes, brighteners, or cheap perfume." As someone who hates strong perfumes, the scent was pleasant and not too strong. It may be good for those with chemical sensitivies. It's available in two sizes, a 16 oz. trigger bottle for about $8 and a gallon refill for about $15. Many local bike shops carry ProGold products. If yours doesn't, ask them to!

I found that ProGold Bike wash effectively removes grease and almost everything else. It's easy on the frame and components. It took off cyclocross grime, mountain bike mud, and road bike gunk There was nothing the wash couldn't get off other than a few spots that had been on my bikes for years. I used it on at least 15 complete bikes as well as several drive train scrubbings after wet rides. There is still wash left in the bottle for another complete bike wash or two. The bottom line is ProGold Bike Wash works really well break the bank. 3-30-2012 A bike map of Decatur is available from Decatur Active Living. Many of the streets are familiar to those of us that ride them.

It is easy to join the team. www.juniorflyers.org Our goal is to introduce the kids to the sport of cycling and hopefully convert the entire family to an active lifestyle. effectively. Even if all you have is a fat tire bike, we want you to ride and have fun! We have skinny tire bikes you can barrow. We also encourage the parents to ride with us and learn. Why sit around and watch people ride? Join us Mondays at 6:30 to 7:30 11250 Crabapple Road (Roswell, GA).
