6-11-2012 Cyclocross Photo Exhibit Eric Wright will have a display of his
cyclocross photos at the Hardin Center in downtown Gadsden, AL. The exhibit will
be in the Heritage Room from June 10 until Aug. 31and will feature photos from
Bama Cross and other races. The exhibit is open regular Hardin Center hours. Woodland Brook Closure "Woodland Brook will be closed from Keswick to Brandy Station starting June 18, 2012 through July 29, 2012. It is expected that Speed Humps on Randall Farm Road should prevent speeders along the residential street. Emergency response teams have been made aware of the pending road closure and have alternate plans to access the affected areas. Signage providing detour direction around Vinings Village to neighboring communities have been strategically placed. It is hoped that as a by-product of the improvements, travelers who have used Woodland Brook Rd. as a pass-through to other destinations in the past, will find the detour routes more efficient for future travel." Most rides will use the Randall Farm reroute. Tucker Ride Detour The Tucker Ride will follow the posted detour for the work on Stone Mountain-Lithonia Rd. while construction is underway. The detour will add only a nominal distance.
6-12-2012 Allatoona Work Party From SORBA: "We will be having a workday

Charlotte Sports Cycling News "After years of input from many race
participants, we have super exciting news. We are turning the three CSC promoted
endurance races into a series with $$CASH$$ prize. Currently we have budgeted
$2,200 across four solo categories: 6-15-2012 Fool's Gold Race News The Fool's Gold 100 is now the National Ultra Endurance
Series finale!
Fool's Gold 100 &
50 has grown from just over 100 racers in 2007 to a
400-racer event and things are only getting better as the 2012
Fool's Gold 100 is now the final stop on the NUE circuit.
That means more racers and more fun. We will again base the
event from the beautiful
Montaluce Winery
in the North Georgia mountains. The race course for the 50 &
100 mile race will be the same as used for the 2011 race.
We've added the
Fool's Gold Adventure Run as well. The property at the
Montaluce Winery was just begging for an event like this. A 6.5
run over varying terrain will be sure to challenge and thrill
runners and spectators alike. Don't think you can handle a run
after knocking out the mountain bike race? That's ok we have
individual and team categories. See below for details.
We have 100 additional spots for the 2012 race- 200 for the 50 miler
and 200 for the 100 miler. Both races will sell out so don't wait
to register. You can find online registration and a confirmed
riders list at
athlete360.com.
6-16-2012 Roswell Ride News From Bike Roswell: To All, There has been an
increasing number of resident complaints from Martin's Landing. Now it isn't
always our ride that causes the complaints, but we are the known recipient. To
do our part we will go left into Martin's Landing from riverside and come back
down Eves Rd for a long downhill ride. Come join us in Roswell, the first
bicycle friendly community in Georgia. Beautiful flats along the Chattahoochee
coupled with spectacular homes along climbs that can challenge the best rider.
We even ride past Chipper Jones' Atlanta Cycling News and Deals "Tifosi has a new cycling specific glass out, the PODIUM. It's a full shield style for max peripheral vision, and it comes with 3 lenses for $69.95 - clear, rose, tint. Glasses are light weight and very comfortable. added an Open 50+ division for this year's event. This year's course will
consist of the Van Michael Trail (minus the Kevorkian Pass Switchbacks) and

will be a race against the clock to see if that last lap will count. Come out
early, set up your pit and hang out! Gates open at noon, you may pre-ride the

Friday's Criterium 6-26-2012 Tour De Fat From the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition: New Belgium's support for cycling keeps growing in Atlanta. After last year's Atlanta launch of the Clips of Faith Beer and Film Festival, New Belgium invited ABC to be part of Atlanta's first-ever Tour de Fat, the biggest, most enjoyable traveling bike festival ever! Proceeds from the event will benefit the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, as well as Sopo Bicycle Coop and IMBA-SORBA. The day kicks off in Historic Fourth Ward Park with a zany, costumed bike parade, followed by a bike & beer festival. Stick around for performances by Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, Yo-Yo People, Sean Hayes, and Sssnakenstein, circus- and vaudeville-type acts, even bicycle dance troupes. The fun is on Saturday, June 30 from 9-3:30 in the Fourth Ward. 6-27-2012 This Weekend This is a quite weekend around Georgia as far as racing goes. I don't know of a single cycling race, road or mountain, happening. The Cartersville Century is on Saturday. It's one of the best supported centuries around. Plenty of racers will be out there to keep you company. Next weekend there is the GCS #5 Arrowhead race on the new Arrowhead trails in Macon. It's the first race there since the tornados destroyed the trails several years ago. The Georgia Games Crit, RR, and TT will happen around Atlanta for the roadies. Check out a map of the TT course. The Omnium will take place at the Dick Lane Velodrome on Saturday. The DLV is always fun to watch! Click here to get to the FREE Admission coupon.
