I ride in the Thursday night Adult Group lesson at Falcon Ridge Stables. There are anywhere from 2-7 people that regularly ride. Some are boarders, some are like me and simply enjoy taking lessons right now. Some are show riders, some ride just for fun. No matter what, we have a great time in our lessons. Sharon, our trainer, allows us to get away with things that the children cannot get away with. If we get tired, she will let us rest. If we want to be tortured, she will torture us.
Sable, a Bay Thoroughbred mare, is one of the horses that I enjoy riding the most. She belongs to Doug, Sharon's husband, and is his former showhorse. Sable now resides in the Falcon Ridge school horse program. She is a cute jumper and has taken me up to 3 feet, the hightest I've jumped since leaving Heel Down Stable in 1996. She is a doll and knows her job very well.
Sable and I trotting during the warm-up.
Rusty and his horse Legend trot around.
Sandy practices the trot on her Thoroughbred gelding Lexus. Lexus does triple duty for Sandy, her husband Paul, and their daughter. He is a cute horse and has a mind of his own!
Ann Martin rides her favorite mount Samantha. Sharon says that Sam likes Ann's riding style.
Before our lesson, we often hang out and watch the lesson before ours. Sometimes you can learn just as much by watching as by participating.
