Tim Henry starts his 2003 season off with new colors and a chance to race with the best professional cyclists in the country.

What can be said about the 21-year-old sprinting phenomenon from Roswell Georgia? Tim Henry has joined the premier list of professionals to come out of Georgia including local superstars Chris Pic and Bill Oyster. In his debut season as a professional cyclist, Tim has already secured his first win of the season. His repeat win at the Brooks Cycling Road Race proves his talents cannot be overlooked. In 2002 Tim won the Georgia State Road Race title with the help of his Realitybikes.com U23 teammates. A month later he again proved his presence with a win at the Georgia State Criterium Championship. Beaming from success and determination Tim once more proved his dominance with a 5th place finish at the 100k Cycling Classic. Tim began his cycling at the age of 15 with the Velo Rockets junior’s organization. He quickly moved up to a category 2 cyclist and joined the Zaxby’s U23 Squad. With his true talents beginning to emerge he was selected as Team leader for the 2002 Realitybikes.com U23 team. With 5 wins and 2 state jerseys in 2002, the professional teams began to take notice. Still unsure of his racing plans for 2003, Tim took a 3-month hiatus to hike Europe. Upon his return late December, The Cycling Team of West Virginia (Go-Mart) offered Tim a spot on their new professional program. Tim’s 2003 racing plans include participating in the 1st annual Tour of Georgia which will begin mid April, the US Pro Championships in Philadelphia, and the always exciting San Francisco Grand Prix in late September. When asked what makes him stand out from other local and national competitors, Tim replied “ My sprint”. “I can muster up enough energy to hang with the best breakaway riders then out sprint them at the line”. With the support of his Dad, family, and local Georgia fans, Tim should be ready to take the 2003 National Racing Calendar by storm. With plenty of confidence and determination, a National racing title is certainly within reach for this young rising star. Be on the lookout for this NEW Georgia Professional at a race near you.
