Iron Maiden Race
That little lightning bolt can only mean one thing! Ok, it’s Iron Maiden so technically it means two things. Thing #1 – Based on experience, the chance of a thunderstorm is pretty high! Thing #2 – We are adding a team category with the option for having an ebike racer on the team. Hence the HappE Team Category.

Why? We have had countless conversations with parents who would love to be a part of our events, but due to medical issues, have to ride ebikes. Are we limiting ebikes in this event to those who medically need them? Nope! That wouldn’t be fun to monitor or enforce, but that reality is what opened our eyes to the possibility. Are we adding ebike categories to our other mountain bike races? Probably not. More than any other event. Iron Maiden is about community, strategy, cookouts, and laughter rather than intense racing. It’s more vibes than victory. Here are the rules governing how it will work! 12 Hour or 24 Hour HappE Team Category •Teams of 4-6 people •One ebike racer per team (must be same person on the ebike for duration of race) •Unmodified Class 1 ebikes only •No more than 4 ebike laps in 12 hour race •No more than 7 ebike laps in 24 hour race •Ebike cannot start the race

Update on the 26-27 Endurance Series
In our lifetime, we’ve learned a few things….Never try to race the same weekend as a Georgia Cycling Association or Alabama Cycling Association race. One we learned from Vizzini. (Some of you whippersnappers need to go watch “The Princess Bride.”) The other we learned from experience. Because of a scheduling conflict, we will not be hosting THE FLOW 6/3 at Tannehill on April 3, 2027. It’s a bummer. We know. However, we are super excited to announce a new venue for that same date! We will now host THE FLOW(villa) 6/3 at Dauset Trails very near Flovilla, GA! After catastrophic storm damage in 2025, these trails have been completely refurbished. While “amazing” is definitely an overused superlative, there really isn’t a better word to describe them. This system retained the techy sections, but there is now an abundance of flow. Preston York of Flowmotion Trail Builders did the refurb. He is the mastermind behind the Yonah Preserve Trails and many of your favorite trails and trail systems throughout the southeast!

To our Alabama fam…have no fear! We see you! Because we had to move the April race to Georgia, we are also thrilled to announce that The Assault on Sunset Hill 6/3 on September 5 at Fort McClellan in Anniston, AL will be part of the 26-27 Chainbuster Southeastern Endurance Series! This is a fantastic event on a great trail system (also built by Preston), AND the proceeds from the race go towards scholarships awarded yearly to Alabama Cycling Association students! Watch for more information on the Endurance Series Sale (or if you’ve been waiting on it – have at it!
